Eddie Webb from Cumberland Furnace, TN is trying to get a group of local beekeepers together to purchase bees directly from the supplier -- Hardeman Apiaries. Eddie is hoping to save some money by renting a van and driving directly to the supplier to purchase the bees. He will drive straight back here to deliver them. This will cut down on the time the bees spend in transit.
UPDATE from Eddie Webb:
"Based on their info I'm planning on picking up bees late on March 27 for an early 28th delivery OR pick up late on April 3 for an early 4th delivery. Three lb packages will run 62.00, four lb packages will run 69.00 with clip and mark 1.25 each. These are Italians. Russians are available for a few dollars more. I will make a stop in Giles Co early on Saturday morning, then on to Cheatham, Montgomery and Houston/Stewart Co clubs.
I do not know what type of deposit Hardeman will require but will pass that on later. I hope to order or at least reserve by late December. I would still like to make a Montgomery and Cheatham Co meeting in person.
I can start taking orders now, but DO NOT send any money yet. Email orders are preferred but please feel free to call, write or email. I will answer or get answers to all of your questions. You can reach me at cumberlandfurnacehoney@hotmail.com, 615-686-9215 cell, 615-219-4501 home or 615-763-2084 work. My mailing address is 2099 Leno Rd., Cumberland Furnace, TN 37051.”
