First session - Monday, January 19, 2015
6:30 pm. Free to members! Dues are only $5!
First session – Monday, January 19 , 2015 6:30 – 9pm Bee strains, ordering, physiology, castes, pests, diseases and medication. This information to be presented early in the year so new beekeepers receive the information they need to enable timely purchase/shipment of their spring bee packages.
Second session - Monday, February 16, 2015
Second session – Monday, February 16, 2015 6:30 – 9 pm, Hive component construction, choosing a good location for a hive/apiary, correct bee installation, feeding, bee behaviors, lifecycle, mating, swarms, beekeeper behaviors (good and not so good), protocols for working in the hive and hive management philosophies. Also to cover state registration of Apiaries and inspections. This information presented early enough for new beekeepers to obtain the equipment they need and get it assembled and ready for receiving their spring packages and start thinking about how they will manage their hive/apiary.
